Preparing to Join a Global Standard for Responsible Business

Glooscap Ventures is committed to conducting business responsibly, ethically and in a manner that creates lasting value for Glooscap First Nation.

As part of strengthening our approach to corporate accountability and sustainability, Glooscap Ventures is preparing to become a participant in the United Nations Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative.

The UN Global Compact calls on companies to align their strategies and operations with ten universally recognized principles in four areas: human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

Human Rights

We support and respect internationally recognized human rights and work to ensure that our businesses do not contribute to human rights abuses.

Labour

We support fair and responsible employment practices, including the elimination of forced labour, child labour and discrimination in employment.

Environment

We seek to reduce environmental impacts, support responsible resource use and pursue opportunities that contribute to a lower-carbon and more sustainable economy.

Anti-Corruption

We are committed to conducting business with integrity and oppose corruption, bribery and other unethical business practices.

Building the Foundation

Responsible business requires more than making a commitment. It requires policies, processes and accountability throughout an organization.

Before formally joining the UN Global Compact, Glooscap Ventures is continuing to strengthen the systems that will support our commitment, including our approach to responsible supply chains, forced labour and child labour due diligence, supplier expectations, environmental responsibility, governance and ethical business conduct.

This work is intended to ensure that our commitment to the UN Global Compact is supported by meaningful practices across Glooscap Ventures and its controlled businesses.
