Glooscap Ventures' Board of Directors is a team of highly experienced leaders who are committed to the long-term growth and performance of the economic development corporation.

The Board is comprised of 9 members that each specialize in a specific field such as marketing, finance, accounting, communications, human resources, technology, and legal. The Council of Glooscap First Nation appoint all members of the board and the Councillor that oversees Economic Development is an ex-officio member of the Board.

Governance at Glooscap Ventures
Glooscap Ventures operates within a strong governance framework that ensures accountability, transparency, and alignment with community priorities. The Board of Directors provides strategic direction and oversight for all business operations.

The independent Finance, Audit & Risk (FAR) Committee, provides detailed review and oversight of financial reporting, investments recommendations, risk management, and audit matters. This committee helps safeguard the integrity of the organization’s financial systems and supports informed decision-making.

The Chief and Council of Glooscap First Nation, as the shareholder, provide ultimate oversight and approval of key strategic decisions. The Board reports regularly to Council, ensuring that all ventures remain aligned with community goals, values, and benefit for future generations. The vision is developed by the community.

Together, the Council, Board, and FAR Committee create a balanced governance structure — combining community leadership, professional oversight, and sound business management.
